The collaboration confirms Prima’s commitment to promoting inclusion and acceptance, through a series of initiatives organised by its ‘True Colours’ network.
Prima, the Italian-founded insurtech company, has shown its support for Casa Arcobaleno, a social enterprise in association with the Municipality of Milan. Casa Arcobaleno offers refuge to young people rejected by their families because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or transition journey.
Prima is organising a benefit evening for its staff, where representatives of Casa Arcobaleno will share their stories. During the evening, the company will raise money for the organisation through games and entertainment. Prima has promised to match the amount raised that night, doubling the donation to Casa Arcobaleno. Prima is also exploring how to give young people welcomed by the charity better access to employment opportunities within its own business.
It confirms Prima’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion and its support of the LGBTQ+ community. For the past two years, Prima has been an official sponsor of Milan Pride. The company also champions LGBTQ+ charities beyond Italy, including Stonewall Housing in the UK.
Stonewall Housing is an LGBTQ+ homelessness charity. This year, Prima donated IT equipment to support caseworkers deliver essential services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Next year, the company plans to donate laptops to residents too.
Many of these initiatives are the work of Prima’s ‘True Colours’ LGBTQ+ Network, founded and run by Prima employees. The network aims to ensure everyone at Prima finds happiness and can freely express themselves at work, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. It runs events throughout the year. Recently, this has included a seminar hosted by Cathy La Torre, the lawyer and activist, on the importance of language and inclusion.
“We’re committed to enhancing the uniqueness of every person and creating value for our people and the community”, says Matteo Luischi, Prima’s Chief Management Officer and Head of Strategy. Luischi is also one of the founders of the ‘True Colours’ network. “We believe that initiatives like Casa Arcobaleno have a real impact on people's lives, providing support and opportunities to those who need it. Supporting this project is a source of pride for us, because it means contributing to a more equitable, inclusive and respectful future."
