The role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senion Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing security controls in our AWS environments, as well as championing DevSecOps practices across our organization.
You will play a crucial role in enhancing our overall security posture and ensuring the protection of our cloud infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for cybersecurity and cloud technologies. You should be able to balance technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:: Implement and manage security controls and best practices in AWS environments. Develop and enforce security measures for cloud infrastructure, ensuring robust protection against threats. Champion DevSecOps practices by integrating robust security measures into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, while addressing security considerations within Domain-Driven Design frameworks to ensure end-to-end security and compliance throughout the software development lifecycle. Improve application security practices across the development lifecycle. Enhance security measures for Kubernetes environments. Conduct advanced penetration testing on AWS to identify vulnerabilities and improve our security defences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall security posture and awareness. Conduct threat intelligence and research to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Key requirements:: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Experience with Kubernetes, including security best practices. Strong knowledge and experience of AWS, including security services and best practices. A clear understanding of the dynamics of software delivery in an agile, microservices-based environment, inclusive of aspects such as planning practices and ceremonies, design flow, SSDLC, operations and observability, platform engineering, identity, and data governance. Proficiency in using CI/CD systems and Infrastructure as Code (Python Pulumi), including GithHub Actions. Knowledge of Cloud Control Frameworks (e.g. CIS, CSA, NIST) Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice to have:: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, paCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, or similar are preferred. Advanced knowledge of scripting languages (python, bash) Threat modelling experience
