At Prima, Data Scientists are part of the Pricing & Underwriting department, working within global teams that drive our international strategy. By applying for this role, you'll be considered for one of two global teams, and during the hiring process, we'll determine the best fit for your skills and expertise.

Our Global Pricing & Underwriting Teams are at the forefront of shaping our international strategy through data, analytics, and innovation. They transform complexity into structured, proactive solutions, enabling each market to identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous growth.

By combining strategic vision with cutting-edge analytics, the team ensures a seamless approach to pricing and underwriting. Their work spans from defining and executing global strategies to developing advanced machine learning models and optimizing data pipelines. Through collaboration across multiple markets, they extract insights, identify scalable best practices, and enhance technical capabilities, making data-driven decision-making a core strength of Prima.

As a Data Scientist in these teams, some of your activities could be::

Design, build and evolve Prima’s proprietary predictive technology, in topics such as the prediction of future claims, tactical pricing, renewal probability, fraud detection and customer lifetime value, etc;

Define and support the implementation in each country of the key tools to understand how the business is growing, for example, conversion, retention, emerging profitability. The monitoring tools need to be consistent at a global level and at the same time able to adapt to the different stages of evolution of each country;

Support the countries in planning the pricing and UW strategy and consequent follow up;

Develop a strong critical spirit and creativity that can act as an engine for Prima's growth.

Are you the ideal candidate for this exciting role? Here's what we're looking for::

Impressive academic achievements in Mathematics, Computer science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematical Engineering or Physical Engineering;

From graduates to people with 2+ years of working/research experience: we’re open to evaluate the seniority during the recruitment process;

Strong Python programming skills - especially in the data domain - and fluent use of GIT;

Excellent English level, oral & written;

You have a genuine, collaborative mindset that inspires and guides others.

In addition to the basic requirements, we will carefully evaluate these characteristics as a plus::

You have previous work experience in similar roles;

Knowledge of Spark, SQL or any other data-oriented programming language and proficiency with standard data wrangling and modeling libraries (Pandas, Sklearn. Keras, XGBboost, LightGBM, etc.);

Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau or similar);

Strong background in mathematical optimization, linear and nonlinear programming, convex optimization, combinatorial optimization techniques, metaheuristics (such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, and particle swarm optimization), and stochastic optimization methods.
